We believe in three very fundamental principles that helped shape our country and have since been diluted, perverted, forgotten, or otherwise abolished altogether. These three principles are a simplified guideline of what life as an american citizen should be, and what the government’s role in that life should be.
Principle #1: A citizen should be free to do anything he/she wants, as long as it does not harm any other person or damage the property/financial standing of any other person.
Principle #2: Government should exist for only three reasons. First, to protect us from foreign nations or military/terrorist groups who wish to destroy our sovereignty or harm our citizens, through the use of Diplomatic and Military means. Second, to create and enforce the laws of the land, which should only exist to protect the freedom/property/and physical well being of its citizens. Lastly, to provide services to its citizens that can be proven beneficial to all citizens without infringing on the rights/freedoms of those citizens (i.e. Infrastructure like roads, highways and bridges, public education, postal service, etc.).
Principle #3: Taxes should be collected by the Government to cover the costs of its three purposes, listed in Principle #2, and nothing more.
These Principles are broad and are meant to serve as a template for political decision-making, and not as a rigid or perfect system of judgement. No system of ideals can be without an occasional practical flaw, but the ideals are valid nonetheless, and should be adapted into practical application whenever possible.
